UES RESIDENCE

The client aims to transform their home into a two-bedroom apartment by partitioning part of the living room to create a second bedroom for their young child. The partition wall is detailed with a glass fin where it meets the windows, giving the illusion of uninterrupted window space and enhancing the sense of openness.

The renovation also includes a complete reconfiguration of the kitchen layout, optimizing storage and functionality within its compact footprint. Drawing inspiration from Scandinavian design, the space features honey-toned upper cabinets contrasted with sleek white lower cabinets and white glass appliances. The centerpiece of the kitchen is the peninsula, entirely wrapped in white Salvatore quartzite. With perfectly matched veins and three-way mitered corners, it resembles a solid block of stone. The quartzite continues up the countertop, forming the back panel of a liquor cabinet, where its natural glow is visible through the glass door.

The white oak flooring, along with the minimalist design of the wardrobe and window millwork, reflects the client’s appreciation for natural materials. The unique Flock of Light pendant above the dining area, crafted from delicate, malleable wires, adds a whimsical touch to this modern apartment.
